Biography

Having served within the legal arena both nationally and internationally for four decades, Judge Richard S. Gebelein is highly regarded as a judicial expert. As a judge for the Superior Court of Delaware for 21 years, he presided over a myriad of trials and appeals including felony, civil, state board and agency matters.

On a global platform, Judge Gebelein was a Rule of Law Officer with the Office of Staff Judge Advocate, Combined Forces Command in Kabul Afghanistan; an International Judge, State Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo, Bosnia and currently is the Chief of Party, USAID Justice Sector Development Project II, a three component Rule of Law Project in Bosnia and Herzegovina designed to enhance the independence and effectiveness of the judicial sector.

In addition to his domestic and foreign judicial service, Judge Gebelein was elected Attorney General for the State of Delaware, 1979-1983. He was also the Chief Deputy Attorney General for the Delaware Department of Justice, the first Disciplinary Counsel for the Delaware Supreme Court, a Chief Deputy Public Defender, a State Solicitor for the Delaware Department of Justice and a private practice attorney.

Bringing his wealth of knowledge in diverse legal areas, judicial expertise and passion for justice to the alternative dispute resolution process ensures clients receive the service they need.
